Judging Process

The I Do Wedding Awards are judged entirely on votes received by brides and grooms, the judging process is drawn up using the average voter scores.

How the voting is calculated

Voting is open to newlyweds who have used an entered supplier and married between 16th March 2020 and 13th March 2022.

In the voting process, each voter gives a score between 1 and 10 in each of the 5 quality measures.

The quality measures are as follows:

  • Quality of expertise, advice and guidance received
  • Quality of customer service received
  • Quality of service/product supplied
  • Value for money
  • Above and beyond expectations

The 5 quality measure scores received from the voter are then added together to give a total score out of 50.

The total number of points given by all voters are then added together.

This figure is then divided by the number of votes received giving an average vote score.

A minimum of 10 votes is required for the company to be classed as a valid entrant.

If the minimum amount of votes are not achieved they will be eliminated from the competition.

If there is a tie in the score after the voting has closed, the winner will be decided on the comments received and reviews on social channels.

All entrants whose average voter score out of 50 is below the category average will be eliminated from the awards.

Calculating the vote this way means the wedding suppliers are all on an equal level.

Entrants

Each category must have a minimum of 5 businesses entered. If a category does not meet this minimum then these categories will be merged with either another area or with another relevant business type.

There is no limit on the number of entrants in each regional category.

Duplicate votes and couples married out of the specified dates will not be counted.

Entries will not be accepted after 5pm on Friday 4th March 2022.

Voting for the I Do Wedding Awards 2022 will close at 5pm on Friday 18th March 2022.

The finalists in each category will be notified by email on Friday 8th April 2022.

We will publish a shortlist of finalists of each category on this website in early April 2022. All suppliers not shortlisted are eliminated from the competition.

The winner of each category will be announced at the I Do Wedding Awards 2022 Ceremony held at Sheffield City Hall on Tuesday 17th May 2022 and will be presented with their award.

All votes will be verified – Any company found trying to fabricate the voting process will be eliminated.

The judge’s decision is final and no further correspondence will be entered into.
