Judging Process

The I Do Wedding Awards are judged entirely on votes received by brides and grooms, the judging process is drawn up using the average voter scores.

How the voting is calculated

Voting is open to newlyweds who have used an entered supplier and married between Saturday 16th March 2019 and Friday 13th March 2020.

In the voting process, each voter gives a score between 1 and 10 in each of the 5 quality measures.

The quality measures are as follows:

The 5 quality measure scores received from the voter are then added together to give a total score out of 50.

The total number of points given by all voters are then added together.

This figure is then divided by the number of votes received giving an average vote score.

A minimum of 10 votes are required for the company to be classed as a valid entrant. If the minimum amount of votes are not achieved they will be eliminated from the competition.

If there is a tie in the score after the voting has closed, the company with the most votes will be the winner.

Calculating the vote this way means the wedding suppliers are all on an equal level.

Each category must have a minimum of 5 businesses entered. If a category does not meet this minimum then these categories will be merged with either another area or with another relevant business type.

There is no limit on the number of entrants on each regional category.

Duplicate votes and couples married out of the specified dates will not be counted.

Entries will not be accepted after 5pm on Friday 6th March 2020.

Voting for the I Do Wedding Awards 2019 will close at 5pm on Friday 20th March 2020.

The finalists in each category will be notified by email on Friday 3rd April 2020.

We will publish a short-list of finalists of each category on this website early April 2020. All suppliers not shortlisted are eliminated from the competition.

The winner of each category will be announced at the I Do Wedding Awards 2020 Ceremony held at Sheffield City Hall on Tuesday 12th May 2020 and will be presented with their award.

All votes will be verified – Any company found trying to fabricate the voting process will be eliminated.

The judges decision is final and no further correspondence will be entered into.
